Tablet Security Stand: Sleek and Highly Functional, Perfect for Store Displays
Looks matter when it comes to
selling products in stores. The display counter has to be appealing and must be
designed to display mobiles and tablets in a way that induces customers to try
and buy. Security is another concern.
Shopkeepers must allow easy handling of the tablet and must also safeguard to
prevent attempts at theft. One of the finest products that does both is a
tablet stand. This is a sleek product with an angled top that holds the tablet
in a firm grip, allowing buyers to try it out to their heart’s content. What is
more the security stand has an inbuilt charger that will charge virtually any
tablet, providing 21 volts at 3 amperes in a 4-way charging technology.
The tablet
security stand is
contemporaneous in design,
sophisticated in technology and features a braided cable traveling through the
central column for full protection. All the controls and electronics are hidden
under the counter. The best thing about this sophisticated security stand for
tablets is that it does not require any set up and works straight out of the
box. It is affordable and shopkeepers can buy a number of these units to add
appeal and security in a compact, sleek package.
Large or small, each tablet
remains fully charged, allows unhindered trials and also remains securely held,
contributing to a pleasant shopping experience. Sellers have peace of mind;
buyers can try out the tablet and yet not be deterred by the presence of the
security device. In fact, by displaying each tablet in an attractive way, it
helps promote sales and pays back the investment in a short time.

Effective, Affordable Store Security Antennas No Store Should be Without
The greatest problem for
retailers is not competition from online stores. It is plain theft of expensive
products on display in their showroom. It is estimated that shopkeepers
throughout the US
sustain losses of $ 13 billion each year. Security is the key to minimizing or
preventing theft and there are a few simple equipments and devices far more
effective than plain security video cameras.
A retailer dealing in a wide
variety of products would need to keep each item safeguarded against theft. One
of the simplest do it yourself solution is to get an antenna in the shape of a display stand. This antenna works in transmit
and receive modes with an optional connection to a PC equipped with a communication
package. Store owners attach sensors or tags to products and these are detached
at the checkout counter. Should anyone pass the antenna with the product
bearing the tag, an alert is issued. The antenna detects tags and also works as
a metal detector besides serving as an advertising stand.
Retailers have the option of
installing the antenna alone or going in for a complete solution comprised of
the antenna, tags and detacher. Staff at checkout counter detaches tags and
then the product can be taken out of the premises.
The secret of successful security
measures is to keep them discreet and unobtrusive so as not to annoy buyers.
Antennas that stand out can create a negative impression. An acrylic antenna
with inbuilt LED light serves as a display stand at the checkout counter while
discreetly functioning as a send and receive antenna. Retailers would add to
their décor by choosing discreet yet beautifully designed dual purpose antennas
and tag systems from the right source. They ensure security of their products
without detracting from the shopping experience for buyers.

How to Choose the Best RF Security Antennas
Security
is a major concern for shop owners. Retailers selling a variety of products may
find that just one single solution is not effective and would like something
that works across a wider range of products. Stands are fine for electronic
devices but what about the hundreds of other products, some of them expensive?
In such cases, one way to ensure security and prevent theft is to have hard
tags attached to each product. The tag works in conjunction with antennas. Most
such systems work on radio frequency with short operational range so as not to
interfere with other devices.
Such RF security antennas can be installed at entry and exit points. A simple system is an antenna that works with RF wireless tags. Any tag that comes within range is detected by the antenna that triggers an alarm and thus prevents that item from being carried out without deactivation at the checkout counter.
A
more sophisticated option is an antenna that can be linked to a PC. This works
for a majority of products, especially food retailers. Connection to a PC means
the system can be monitored remotely and with self tuning functions, false
triggering does not take place. Software in the PC also filters out noise that
could cause interference.

What are charging leads and which products out there are the best?
If
you operate a retail counter selling smart phones and tablets, the prime
requirement is that these portable electronic devices must be available for
demo purposes. A prospective buyer needs to feel the product, try out its
various features and be convinced before he makes a decision to buy. This means
the tablet he picks up must always be juiced up. A dead tablet as good as
drives potential customers away. How do you, as a retailer, ensure that tablets
on display are always fully charged? This is but one part of the story.
Retailers will also have customers walking in looking for replacement tablet
charging leads and must keep in stock all types for different brands.
Each brand has its specific connector though a majority may use the micro USB
plug
The
answer is to have a powerful charger with enough amperage to simultaneously
charge a number of tablets. The problem here is that smart phone and tablet
manufacturers have proprietary connectors and sockets for charging batteries.
Even Apple has different types of leads for different models. Samsung has a
unique connector as does Motorola or any of the lesser known brands.
A
charging lead is a low value product. However, there is a difference in the way
they are constructed and it never pays to use or sell cheap leads. Cheap leads
do not have sufficient thickness wires to handle the current and the
terminations are not solidly soldered or crimped. The wire is simply placed
over the pin and enclosed in plastic molding. Over time the wire disengages and
in leads with thin wires, the wires tend to break and the lead will not work.
Solid, quality leads will have thicker wires crimped or soldered to plugs and
will charge the tablet quickly. In addition they will take a lot of mishandling
and will last for a longer time, giving value to customers and enhancing a
retailer’s reputation for selling quality products.

RF Security Hard Tags for Retail Garment Business
For retailers the biggest headache is to prevent
theft. Video surveillance is one solution but is not perfect. Another, more
effective system is electronic article surveillance or EAS in short that has
proved its worth over the years.
EAS is a complete system comprising of RF
security hard tags, control units, sensors and antennas
along with deactivators. For garment retailers these round hard tags with pins
are perfect. They work on 8.2 MHz frequencies and are unobtrusive. It is easy
to attach the tag to clothes.
Unobtrusive and effective, these tags have a range of about 5 feet and
retailers can easily buy 100 tags with pins at affordable prices. The device is
activated when the pin is inserted into the hole of the tag. Magnetic ball
bearings keep the pin in place and at the checkout point the clerk uses a
magnetic device to detach the pin. Such hard tags can then be reused.
For retailers, whether in electronic devices business
or in the garment business, theft is a risk they cannot afford. What you invest
you recoup if you consider the savings you make by deterring theft. Simple and
elegant, these tags form part of an overall EAS system that is a must for
retail spaces. Get it from the right EAS solutions provider at affordable
prices, with the assurance of quality and performance.
