If
you operate a retail counter selling smart phones and tablets, the prime
requirement is that these portable electronic devices must be available for
demo purposes. A prospective buyer needs to feel the product, try out its
various features and be convinced before he makes a decision to buy. This means
the tablet he picks up must always be juiced up. A dead tablet as good as
drives potential customers away. How do you, as a retailer, ensure that tablets
on display are always fully charged? This is but one part of the story.
Retailers will also have customers walking in looking for replacement tablet
charging leads and must keep in stock all types for different brands.
Each brand has its specific connector though a majority may use the micro USB
plug
The
answer is to have a powerful charger with enough amperage to simultaneously
charge a number of tablets. The problem here is that smart phone and tablet
manufacturers have proprietary connectors and sockets for charging batteries.
Even Apple has different types of leads for different models. Samsung has a
unique connector as does Motorola or any of the lesser known brands.
A
charging lead is a low value product. However, there is a difference in the way
they are constructed and it never pays to use or sell cheap leads. Cheap leads
do not have sufficient thickness wires to handle the current and the
terminations are not solidly soldered or crimped. The wire is simply placed
over the pin and enclosed in plastic molding. Over time the wire disengages and
in leads with thin wires, the wires tend to break and the lead will not work.
Solid, quality leads will have thicker wires crimped or soldered to plugs and
will charge the tablet quickly. In addition they will take a lot of mishandling
and will last for a longer time, giving value to customers and enhancing a
retailer’s reputation for selling quality products.
